WHO ARE WE
The Links, Incorporated, an international not-for-profit corporation established in 1946, is dedicated to the advancement of youth, families, and underserved communities. The Links, Incorporated includes more than 17,000 civic-minded women.
In Chicago, the Lake Shore (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was chartered on January 20, 1996. For nearly 30 years, our Chapter’s primary goal is to provide educational, cultural, and financial support to enrich the lives of families and under-served youth in Chicago's Westside community. The members of the Lake Shore (IL) Chapter work every month to provide various community services because we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The Chapter has created and implemented programs that focus on education, health initiatives, arts enrichment, and mentoring. Annually, in partnership with Chicago Public Schools, Deeply Rooted Dance Company, South Chicago Dance Theatre, ETA Creative Arts Center, Haitian Consulate, the Salvation Army, the BBF Family Services, National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, Hefferan Elementary School and Westinghouse High School, our Chapter delivers volunteer social services to youth and adults. Additionally, since the Chapter’s inception, we have provided scholarships and financial support to deserving college students, valued at more than $500,000.
We thank you for attending and supporting the Lake Shore (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated goals!
NATIONAL FACETS

Throughout the nation today, Links chapters partner with museums, symphonies, arts councils, educational institutes and corporations in order to support art programs, especially where there is a focus on artists of color.
The mission of the International Trends and Services facet is to expand the global platform for programs designed and developed to service the educational, health and cultural needs of people of African descent throughout the world.
